Ease of Doing Business

Sanjeev Sanyal has rightly pointed out that a colossal number of young people, relatively more talented, end up wasting the prime years of life trying to qualify for the civil services examinations conducted by the UPSC. This is a personal loss for those youths and a humongous loss for the nation.

In the Western part of the country, the craze for government jobs is less as they came under colonial rule later and the fabled Indian business traditions survived to some extent.

The only way, we can save the prime years of so many talented youths and put those to social use is by enhancing the ease of doing business. Whoever is willing, must have a conducive and encouraging system and ecology in place to carry out whatever business they choose.
